Further examination of injuries sustained by Kim Stromberg (shoulder) and Paul Crowder (knee) revealed that Stromberg could be ready for further game action after one week. Crowder´s injury will require further scan, though, and the Canadian forward faces at least one month off.

Znojmo Eagles boost their squad ahead of the upcoming crucial games in qualification round. Young 20-year old defender Ales Sova comes to Znojmo from Kometa Brno and goalie Michael Panec joins the rest of his teammates on EBEL roster. Eagles therefore have three goalies on the roster as injury will keep Filip Landsman out for the season.

Experienced defenseman Lubomir Vosatko leaves Orli Znojmo for Slovakia. His new club is HK Nitra, playing in Slovak Extraliga. Znojmo´s management is now intensively looking for possible options to strengthen the team ahead of the qualification round. Meanwhile, universal Jan Lattner is likely to fill the empty spot in defense.

Pre-season schedule set
(25.4.2013) Znojmo - Orli Znojmo have announced their pre-season games ahead of 2013/14 EBEL season. Fans can look forward to games against elite Czech Extraliga teams, including Ceske Budejovice, Kladno and Slavia Praha. These clashes shall provide not only a reasonable test for the team ahead of the new season, but also provide fans with an opportunity to see the very best Czech players and teams on the ice in Znojmo.

New contract for Martin Podešva
(18.4.2013) Znojmo - Martin Podesva signs for Orli Znojmo on a one-year contract with a further one-year option clause. The 24-year old forward has already spent two and a half seasons in Znojmo colours, although he missed much of 2012/13 season due to a knee injury. Now back to full strength, he is looking forward to the new season.

Goalie Jakub Čech signs for Znojmo
(18.4.2013) Znojmo - 27-year old goalie Jakub Cech signs a new one-year contract with Orli Znojmo. The reliable goalkeeper has played in Czech Extraliga already at 17 years of age for Havirov, then moved on to Zlin and Ceske Budejovice. Recently, his career saw him mostly in Czech 1. liga with occassional spells in the top division. In January 2013, he signed for Eispiraten Crimmitschau of 2. German Bundesliga for his first international club experience.
